The Landscape laughs in spring & stretches on

The landscape laughs in spring & stretches on
Its growing distance of refreshing dyes
From pewet haunted flats the floods are gone
& like a carpet the green meadow lyes
In merry hues & edgd wi yellow flowers
The trickling brook veins sparkling to the sun
Like to young may flyes dancing wi the hours
The noising childern mid the young grass run
Gathering wi village dames from baulk & lea
The swarming cowslips wi comingling play
To make praise worthy wine & savory tea
& drink a winter memory of may
When all the seasons joys have ceasd to be
& flowers & sunny hours have past away
