Listen to me, you wench!
When you first saw me, you said
you'd stay with me forever:
firmly believing in your words
I sold my house, the land around,
my oven and my kettle,
my horse with a coat of deep ebony,
good rice fields, and even my black cow —
didn't I then give all to you?
For what reason, who has done you wrong,
that you amuse yourself with another?
My love, if you too have deceived me,
would I not deceive you?
