Cracks bleed dust and sand
gathered from across the land
hurled in by the wind
through walls
fragile and thin-skinned.

The floorboards weep and groan
under the weight of heavy steps
quiver at the slamming of doors
as loneliness prowls and roars.

Windows have long lost their shine
claimed by the solitude and grime...

Sweltering in high noon sun,
the anguished roof
disjointed and aloof
can barely keep its tiles together.
Another victim of capricious weather...

Stranded in the desert
a bleak, decrepit motel
where
fiendish creatures dwell,
alost traveler awaits
who will not leave
as daylight fades
and rays of darkness
fall down in spades
and hellish storm
the blue sky shades.
