When will the Spring come
I really want to know,
I've had enough of winter,
the cold, the sleet, the snow,
slippery roads and icy sheets
frost within the air
darkened days and lengthy nights
fill me with despair.
I long for the Springtime
beginning with the light
filled with warmth and splendor
oh, the wondrous sight
of the birds returning
their song throughout the air
grass poking up through the snow
buds bursting everywhere.
Translucent colour emerging
in shades of brilliant green
Water trickling gentle
snow melting to a stream
Yes, bring me the Springtime
Thaw my frozen heart
Bring the lovely Springtime,
Blessed fresh new Start.
