Hi; quick little note to say I'm Fliss; I'm new; I live in Pittville, UK; I look forward to reading and writing lots of things here :-)

"No one can imagine the beauty of the view from anything witnessed in England. [...] [S]cenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight."
David Livingstone, on seeing Victoria Falls
The western falls of Pittville's Lower Lake
would likely not move Livingstone to muse
on flying angels, glory in their wake,
and unimaginably beauteous views;
for here, we usually have a small
cascade that joins a modest singing stream
beneath a little footbridge – that is all,
although one might spot watervole or bream;
but following a night of heavy rains
the stream is swollen over weeds and mud
and swelling still in hundredfold new veins,
transforming fields to wondrous wetlands flood;
a flock of geese was sighted in their flight;
"Such lovely scenes!" they honked, in robes of white.

Hi Fliss,
Hi Fliss,
I love the way the falls, which might not have moved Livingstone, do, indeed, move the flock of geese enough to exclaim: "Such lovely scenes!" An enjoyable sonnet.

Thanks, Miles; I'm pleased you appreciated the geese, as their exclamation is my favouite part of the sonnet :-)
