As time inevitably passes,
deadlines are a high risk,
plague ridden luxury,
closer deadlines seem,
practical by necessity,
within time slot choice,
lifelines and deadlines,
should empower themselves,
they are a watchtower,
sentries that sound alarms,
even in that lower register,
whisper scuppering frivolity,
symbiotic, nurturing, self-sufficient,
your lifeline duty bound,
informant of progress toward.
goal setting attainment,
one’s deadline a stark reminder,
of life’s random fragile pulse,
to act on life these pulses,
not on impulse but judiciously
