I know why purple lips are silent; ice-petals frozen cold
in earth’s rank heat. War-scars streak, bleed purple blood
all over in the sticky, slimy, sooty mud.
Lips go quiet, as purple-glass oozes. Heart of gold
why dó you bleed? Secret whispers never told
pour forth, soar-slipping, ripple like a flood.
Speak the words words cannot speak; blossom-bud
of heart imprisoned, purple lips crack the fragile mold.
