Its quiet, not a sound emanating
From the houses around us
As we sneak out of town
You see, I saw a fairy just last night
They're so much more than the stories described

I ran and I told you as soon as I could
I wondered aloud if I'd ever see it again
You grabbed my hand said,
" Let's have an adventure."

So we're hitching our skirts,
Running down cobblestone streets,
And making our way to the forest
Laughing and kissing all of the way

The night's getting darker
The air's getting colder
But there's no place I'd rather be
Than with you next to me
Searching the forest
For mushroom circles and fairy dust

And as we're lying down on the ground to sleep
My head in your lap, You ask me,
" what will you wish for?"

A moment ago I would have said,
"I don't know"
But now with the forest surrounding me
Your fingers carding through my hair so gently
I know
I know

Oh Darling,
Don't you want another night
Like this one
My hand under your skirt
the darkened sky above us
A million stars in the sky
And no one to judge us

I'm thinking
Maybe we can wish to run off together
Find a place to hide away
A place just like this one
A quiet place to be in love
Where we'll be free to be us

But, I don't utter a word of this to you
I pretend I'm sleeping and soon that's true
I drift off into a dreamland
Even there I find you

As I awaken breathing in the sight of you
And a forest alight with morning dew
I catch sight of a glimmer flitting away
I tug you awake and tell you to make haste

We run through the trees as fast as we can
Trying to follow the fairy dust trail it's leaving

It's not long until we stumble inside
A mushroom circle with no place to hide
As fairies and pixies flutter around
Everything here is vibrant and lush
And the air is glowing with fairy dust
It feels like a fairytale come out to play
No other way to describe it than extramundane

And then they all stop
They've noticed us
Cautious glances are tossed back and forth
The queen makes her way forward,
Asks what we'd like
Quickly as I can I pull you aside
I tell you everything I didn't last night

Oh Darling,
Don't you want another night like that one
Our lips must have touched a thousand times
We didn't have to worry or hide
Every moment was ours and only ours

I'm thinking
Maybe we can wish to run off together
Find a place to hide away
A place just like this one
A quiet place to be in love
Where we'll be free to be us

Alone in the forest
Surrounded by trees
We could live a life of ecstacy
I know I cannot offer you luxury
But I can offer you
All of me

So what do so you say
Will you leave it all behind
The town and your family

Start saying my name instead of his
When people ask who your lover is
Give up life of comfort and ease
For a life with me

Smile lighting up your face
You kiss me
And whisper against my lips," let's do it."

So hand in hand
We turn to the queen
And tell her our story,
Ask if she'd grant us this one request
To run away together and never be found
She says yes and raises her wand over us
Then she sends us on our way and says be free

Its quiet, except for the sounds of the stream
Near the glade
Where we've made our home
You pull me close we lay by the fire
And I think distantly
That I've never been more happy
