In the infirmary foyer, I was waiting alone
In a wheelchair, to visit the operating physician,
With terrible pain from a broken anklebone
Due to a slip and fall on a trekking expedition.
'Twas the first day of the week, crowded and busy;
Noticed her working with relentless dedication
And she was run off her feet ― although not easy
Always to go the extra mile without hesitation.
Her face was glowing with the joy of kindness
With compassion in her bright and beautiful eyes,
A profound humanity that is worthy of praise,
Along with selflessness and a tender heart likewise.
Watching me waiting wearily for very long hours,
She came and relieved the pain, taking complete care
Of me; I experienced the feeling of fresh flowers
In my olfactory realm, confined in the wheelchair.
Wish I could thank those affectionate eyes and the tender soul
Or the ever-smiling face that gave the assurance to recover;
Since it’s become unimaginable to ignore or forget her cordial role,
So here I am to express heartfelt gratitude sacred to her.
Couldn't stop the deep feeling of fondness growing within for her,
My unspoken love and admiration ― witnessed by the wheelchair.
Disclosing this much of her is only fair,
The rest of the chronicle ― knows the wheelchair.
