I felt it blooming softly as a rose
Then dance around my soul, a golden flame
A love as pure as life, though blind to flaws
A slowly burning cry of sharpened shame

I wish I got inspired by starry skies
Or patient waves and birds with wings of hope
I'm cursed to seeking solace in your eyes
And watch them close for me to never cope

To be in love I may be far too young
What's life compared to twenty lonely years?
I yearn to say the words not hold my tongue
I'd rather count your moles than strangled tears

I used to wear a blindfold, now I see
My love for you was jail but now I'm free
