With My Picture

DRAWN WHEN I WAS YOUNG .

T HESE were my features when their youthful age
To thee was proud its honour to engage;
Recalling them — approve the constant heart,
That scorns, when they are chang'd, from thee to part.

Thy features too are chang'd, as well as these,
But more — not less, they animate and please;
Enlighten'd Friendship gilds the latest hour,
And the mind's charm is Love's perennial flower.
