Nobody Knows de Trouble I've Seen

Nobody knows de trouble I've seen ( or : I see),
Nobody knows but Jesus;
Nobody knows the trouble I've seen,
Glory, halleluiah!

Sometimes I'm up, sometimes I'm down, oh, yes, Lord;
Sometimes I'm almost to the ground, oh, yes, Lord.

Although you see me goin' 'long so, oh, yes, Lord;
I have my troubles ( or : trials) here below, oh, yes, Lord

One day when I was walking along,
The elements opened, and His love

I never shall forget that day
When Jesus washed my sins away.
