O coud our childhoods happy spring

O coud our childhoods happy spring
With manhoods days remain
Or summers like a blossom bring
Our dreaming joys again
Coud life its sunny morn renew
& smile its earliest smile
O coud lifes visions waken true
What cares woud they beguile.

O coud my calcind bosom melt
As when its joys were green
O coud I feel as I have felt
& be what I have been
Some woud loves young delights recall
Some wail a witherd joy
But one wish gaind woud gain them all
To be again a boy.
