Poems from the Henn Manuscript - Part 23
WAS it merely so at first
When a pale star in the tremulous air
Palpitated, and the nightingales outburst
In the rich-breathed laurels there?
And he loved me then, I know,
And I know how much I loved him then:
And again these nightingales' quick raptures flow
To the hearts of women and men.
When a pale star in the tremulous air
Palpitated, and the nightingales outburst
In the rich-breathed laurels there?
And he loved me then, I know,
And I know how much I loved him then:
And again these nightingales' quick raptures flow
To the hearts of women and men.
