Rise with the Lamb of Innocence

Thou that in prayeres hes bene lent,
In prayeres and in abstinence,
For thy trespasses penitent,
Confessed and cleine of all offence,
Ris with the Lambe of Innocence,
To den that did the dragoun drif.
This day with hie magnificence
The Lord is rissen fra deth to life.

The sign triumpant of the Croce
Shew to confound the Feindes feid.
And when he feihtes with maist force
With confessioun hald down his heid.
Ris with thy ransomer fra dede
And thee of all thy sinnes shrive:
Thou rew apoun his woundes reid,
That for thee deid and rais on life.

And thou that art in hert so dour,
That noght for his gret passioun growes,
Behald thy meik, sweit Salviour,
Thee to embrace how that he bowes;
See how he mertyred wes with Jowes,
And how he stud for thee in strif.
Hes he thy luve, all he allowes,
That for thee deid and rais on life.

And thou that art in errour dirked,
Follow thy Lord — the way is plane —
And of his futsteppes be noght irked,
That tuke thy gidschip with sic pane.
When thou goes wrang, returne agane,
And with thy ransomer revive:
Lang in sin thou ly not plane,
Bot ris with him fra ded to life.

O! man, that wes in sin despared,
Tak now gude hope and have contritioun,
For thou, that rebel wes declared,
Hes of thy realmes restitutioun.
Now blinded is thy inhibitioun
With the blud of Christes woundes five,
And seilled agane is thy remissioun,
To ris with him fra ded to life.
