Sonnet

Since the Lord has delivered to me a wife to warm
My bed since the Lord has a kitten sent to our kitchen
And now that the kitten is three years old my wife's
Breasts are as white as before the kitten came and
People bow to me in the streets with all the respect
Due to a husband I can sit before the kitchen stove
Without fear of the kitten and without fear of the
Empty coal scuttle because after all the coal bin is not far
And the kitten is housebroke by this time and my children
Are all in my will like fifteen clauses no lawyer or judge
Can break no court can pronounce out of jurisdiction
I speak only English. I say goodmorning to all citizens
In English and I speak to the sunshine that warms my
Slippers in the morning in English. Our cat speaks English.
