Moses , Moses, where thou art
On a lonely hill,
Hast thou heard the shawms of God
Have their holy will?

David, David, leaping down
Low before the Ark,
Hast thou heard young Solomon
Where thou liest stark?

Adam, Adam, driven out
To a desert place,
Go in peace and dig thy grave:
Thou hast seen God's face.
