The Winter Sleep

A MAIDEN o'erwearied
With dance and song,
The Earth,
The Earth,
The Earth sleeps long.

And her dreams are all
Of one mad sweet thing —
The kisses,
The kisses,
The kisses of Spring.

Awake, O maiden,
For joy draws near.
Thy lover,
Thy lover,
Thy lover is here.
