Of Derivatives and Compounds
Words from their root their quantity
Do borrow, so the like we see
In compound words: they still retain
Their primitive and native strain.
But let us not on this depend;

Some cross the strain whence they descend:
From fathers short long sons arise,
And parents tall a pigmy size.
