You Offer Me Wine

You offer me wine, I don't say no,
but beg you to sing, don't let the song be tardy.
The notes of the song are long and the words are biting;
those who hear these words—can they bear such sorrow?
Girls and boys of Lo-yang have flowery faces,
but the magistrate of Ho-nan—his head is like snow.
