Here's to the baby of five or fifteen,
Here's to the widow of fifty,
Here's to the flaunting extravagant queen,
And here's to the hussy that's thrifty —
Please to take note, they are in the same boat:
They have not a chance of recording the vote.

Here's to the lunatic, helpless and lost,
Of wits — well, he simply has none, Sir —
Here's to the woman who lives by her brains
And is treated as though she were one, Sir —
Please to take note, &c.

Here's to the criminal, lodged in the gaol,
Voteless for what he has done, Sir —
Here's to the man with a dozen of votes,
If a woman, he would not have one, Sir —
Please to take note, &c.

Here's to the lot of them, murderer, thief,
Forger and lunatic too, Sir —
Infants, and those who get parish relief,
And women, it's perfectly true, Sir —
Please to take note, &c.
