As it once was

We danced in the ballroom Me and my own A glitter of ball gowns A mingling of clothes The crowds they were silenced For such was my goal To feast on your heartbeat To dwell in your soul The balls have now faded, And so have the clothes The youthful blazing Now burns like deep coals We dance by the moonlight In the chilling cold But how can I feel chills In the warmth of your hold? We dance oh so boldly We dance it by rote But we dance oh so slowly For we are now old Dexterity fading Like memories of old But I will always remember Your face, oh my love

Baby Ducks

I am happy, full of Irish luck

To see ducklings and their Mama duck

            Little faces so cute

           That no one can refute

They safely cross the road with duck pluck.

Deacon

He's a wee one of impish delights

Hardly wants to go to bed most nights

        His fourth birthday is near

        He makes it very clear

That he's the King of  Mischief and Sprites!

Flaming Memories

As I stepped into what was left of the access to the place I used to call home,
I was overwhelmed with lost feelings that had only appeared in my nightmares.
I looked around at the piles of ashes that were once items of pleasure and hope.
Pearls of sadness rolled down my suffering face leaving behind trails of despair.

I placed my hand on the burnt framing, recalling every time I had went through the door.
The last time I walked through it felt so long ago, I had to remind myself it was recently.

Lucifer / Light Bearer (Latin)

vexi luciferum in viam fumi
ac mea propriae habit facem
coruscari.

et tu, lucifer, quid oculis
quid verbis, quid corde
consiliis.

heu, heu, paene amici
scio nihil dum visissem
et conspexi.

Translation:

I rode the smoke to Lucifer
Carrying a beacon of my own
I flickered.

And you, Lucifer, what in your eyes
Your words, your heart
Your councel.

Damn all! Almost my friend
I knew naught while watching
And I saw.

TONGUE TWISTER WITH L

Lonely lovely Leepsa laughs at large lovely lounge late afternoon lying about the laws of London about large land. Why lonely lovely Leepsa laugh at large lovely lounge late afternoon lying about the laws of the large land in London?  What laws of land led lovely Leepsa to be lonely in large land lying in the late afternoon about laughs heard in the lounge of London?

One Last Dance

Won't you dance with me again
And never let this sweet song end
Away from all the dark and gloom
Come to the center of the room
You missed a step, well that's okay
Keep your head up, don't drift away
And If you fall please do not worry
No one here wants us to hurry
They just want to watch in silence
Making sure we keep our balance
The violins are going slower
The atmosphere is falling lower
This cherished song's last note is near
It's sad I'll miss it all, my dear
Our steps in sync, your hand in mine
But alas, it's almost time

Luna

She rises in her silver allure,
full and bright, at times courted by an eclipse,
She shines for the lovers on the park benches,
so many romances bewitched by her presence,
She is the moon, who weeps for broken hearts,
Luna, you capture our wishes and give them hope.

In summer's nightfalls she guides the children
as they catch fireflies, and illuminates
the sleeping mountains,
She glows golden regally on harvest nights,
When she's rising, songs are sung to her,
bidden by her lovers on earth to always be with them.
