244th Weekly Poetry Contest winner: Language of Liquor

by Fabiyas M V

Liquor has a language of its own with a dialect depending on the brand and quantity. It’s syntax free with an awkward accent. Being rich in obscenity, it’s fit for slanging. Both the speaker and the listener often forget what is spoken. No alphabet. Prickly, itchy and obnoxious words dominate the vocabulary. Speech is produced with the dark pressure. It slithers through the subconscious corridor, unfolding a secret or lamenting over a red loss. It’s a tongue of celebration over the aching sense.
