132nd Weekly Poetry Contest honorable mention: Seasonal Connections

by Rie Sheridan Rose

Spring opens its arms—
Lavish bouquets of flowers
Poised in green grass beds.

Summer accepts them,
Ripens the fruits in orchards,
Beckons Autumn winds.

Autumn’s cool kisses
Whisper secrets in chilled ears
Halloween treasures.

Winter scatters snow
In an ivory blanket
Covering Spring’s seeds.

The year cycles round,
Season to season in turn,
Never-ending life.
