"The Loneliest Creature"

It is the loneliest creature
Who is captive of his fears
Who's head burdens a pillow
Wet and heavy with his tears

He begs for a delicate hand
To keep a hold of his own
His mind is ever wondering
Will he always be alone

He wants a girl to rest her head
And breathe softly on his chest
And when the world has got him down
She would draw him to her breast

To sleep warmly by her body
As between them no more space
So when the time comes for waking
He lays kisses on her face

But every day to see her leave
Or stand so close yet shiver
Takes pieces of his heart away
That he would rather give her
