I want a fight
And a fire
So pass me the lighter
So I can strike both
Inside the maw
Of small brown strands
Lighting the jungle
To breathe in war

I want a fire
So pass me the stick
To hold until it renders my flesh
To ash and bone
Like my enemies

I want to dance
Inside the fire
And fight it
With every fibre
Ligament and joint

I’ve lived the rain
The rain that washes all the slag from the bone
And now I want to fight the fire 
alone

Let’s do combat
In this loving embrace
