Holy is night and shallow is mind,
Unstable conscience I have left behind
Oh queen of dreams! Now take me with you
Ruffle my hairs, hold my hands, till the east is new.

Darker the night, and black is your face,
I can see your smile; that blurry haze.
All the dreamers are calling your name,
Show me their dreams! Before the dark goes faint.

She and I rushed towards the west,
Farther from east, that will be best.
Oh! Hundreds and many, dreams I see,
She will do the talking, silent I will be.

First one we saw lives in picturesque cottage,
Sleeping sound into deeper dreamy phase,
He dreamt his cows would give him more,
Leaving his cottage he will live in a fort.

Funny the dream; though anything we can wish,
The next dreamer seems in heavenly bliss.
The curate of parish thought of irradiation,
Then he shall be worthy of the Lamb's recognition.

Teared up my eyes, oh! Such divinity !
But the sleeper thought of higher dignity.
All his friends, graduated and settled,
But he wished to bag a golden medal.

How touching is such admiration!
But the next one had surprise declaration.
He dreamt of beholding a beautiful lady,
But there was one sleeping next to him already

It troubled my heart to see such perjury,
The next dreamer then lessened my fury.
He dreamt of serenity and living with ease,
The world with nor war and eternal peace.

Then someone dreamt how he murdered a lady,
Another one thought of stealing some money.
How different and how impractical visions,
I guess sleep teaches everyone some lessons.

Then the queen asked, if I had any dreams,
But my vault is empty, rather it seems.
Only thing I wish, if she would grant,
To wander every night, together, hand in hand.

Then we ran on toes with all our might,
A dangerous storm before our sight.
Fire and flames bursting from east,
I woke up, my eyes still covered with mist.

Oh! It was only a dream,
Yet how wonderful it seemed.
