A horrible illusion
Designed to signify that something is wrong
Over the centuries we have learned to despise it
We see it as a threat
Although it is all in our mind
We have hired many killers
To get the job done
But many are addictive
And others keep you on the run
On the run from nausea
And suicide thoughts
On the run from heart problems
And lung disease
That can haunt you
Until you feel the pain ease
Next comes addiction
Which makes you crave more
More pain for more killers
To keep the pharmas rich
So you find yourself stuck in a ditch
When you take them to court
The killers just laugh
They say it's all in the disclaimer
That's too small to read
So the judge has no choice
But to set them all free
Finally you break the addiction
And put it all in the past
But you see your loved ones
Getting stuck in the same trap
And you start to ask yourself
“How long will it last?”
