I go in my room and say hello to my favorite animal
A zebra with black keys and white keys right in front of me
I brush my hands on the zebra and warm up with some Beethoven
People called it “Pathetique” but it’s very heartwarming and beautiful
It was a summer’s evening, and I looked outside my window
A dark sky with a little orange illuminated in the center of the west direction
Served a little inspiration as to what to play next
Chopin’s Nocturnes are meant to be played in the autumn, but I enjoy them any season
My fingers press softly while accelerating quickly across the keys
Music isn’t just about how accurate you are, it’s about the emotion you bring
And Chopin’s pieces carry this grace perfectly captured by the weather
I finish, ponder a little, and begin to play some Bach
He’s my favorite composer, his music is filled with counterpoint and voice-leading
I play the English Suite in A Major, which relaxes my mind
The Allemande movement of the Suite is lovely and tender
But becomes very emotional when the piece modulates to C-Sharp Minor
Sometimes, my hands have a mind of its own and play for hours
The zebra can whisper beautiful, exquisite melodies
But eventually, the zebra needs to rest and sleep for the night
So I leave it alone in my room to let it be at peace
Fin.
