Our world is Overdosed.
Overdosed with the plastic we feed,
eats away at the life we build for our children.
Destroying it with the palms of our hands,
the grasps of the fingers we bear.

We are the ones who give and give,
And never see what we leave behind.
Once that man takes it away,
Gone forever in our minds,
Never to be considered or relished upon what we have done.

People only seem to see the beauty,
The beauty of our oceans,
The crashing and chaotic yet peaceful and calming waves
The clear water as if we are looking through a glass.
Oh what beauties it brings to our world.

But one thing has changed,
Humanity and our greed.
We have recked upon this world
With no forgiving hand,
No reconcile of what has come except for the profit.

Five gyres of trash and plastic circle the world,
Consuming our ocean with it.
The great barrier reef,
the largest organism in the world,
One working unit, one living thing.

As the ocean heats and litters,
The once beautiful reef now dead,
Bleached from its color,
The algae and organism starved,
Eighty nine percent Dead.

We are responsible for this,
And we are the ones who need to fix this.
Repair the ocean to what it was,
Before humanity destroyed our oceans from the litter we feed,
So many people can change but don’t.
Though even if you can’t,
Urge other people,
Inform other people,
Make awareness happen,
Because awareness leads to change.
The change that could literally save our world.

It is not just you however,
Its legislative actions that need to be changed,
To take this problem for its true value, true danger.
This issue should not be taken lightly,
in the eyes of our government.

Yet this problem is throw around ,
With little wary of what has come.
The distress we have caused,
Animals are dying,
Our world is dying.

I am here begging.
Pleading to help,
From the disasters we have caused,
The tragedies we have laid upon our oceans,
With no aid so we must fight for change.
