Poetry, poetry you divine companion
composed on the hearts only artists can fathom
Creeping through pages of beauty and peace
abiding in eclipses of darkness
A fairy to some
A demon to others
Some say your existence is a cover
A cloak to affections and to beliefs that provoke
To anguish and to love and to all that we have spoke
And slowly and slowly you creep farther in
And nestle yourself in the story within
Your beauty outshines a rainbow of color
Your darkness knows no bounds for which you cover
The pen from which you were created
Has power over all that you have stated
And yet you hold your own power
To capture and hold in your hour
The mysteries that you hold
The stories made from gold
And all that is left beneath
Are your own unwritten folds
You live on in hearts
Until the last one departs
And slowly you will be made
Into dust and cloth that fade
Poetry thine beauty knows no bounds
And from each heart
A new verse found
And where you will go
And what you will see
Shall remain a mystery
