An uneasy feeling permeates my being
A sense of foreboding overwhelms my thoughts,
Beyond blooming flowers and lush meadows
A stretch of barren,
gloomy landscape looms ahead,
And alone
on a crossroad I stand…
A path seldom traveled and
A trail well-worn,
and I sway amidst like a ship
adrift at high seas, sails torn.

Who from afar calls my name?
I couldn’t see
and yonder I go looking for
that seemed so close at hand;

Teetering atop a soaring peak
I stand and reach for the moon,
down below a taunting abyss beckons …

Feeling forlorn, I stand and wait,
Who from yonder calls my name?
Oh, I just couldn’t see.
