that leads far, far away, to a distant galaxy, where she sleeps beneath alien sheets in an alien bed, awakens to the sighs and sounds of alternate universes, so far away from me. . .and so I open the door, wait just beyond the threshold, feel the room charge as my hands reach to touch her sleep-tousled hair spiraling like a nebula on an alien pillow, in an alien world so far away from me. . .Love, like light, travels thoughtspeed, so I draw closer to the portal’s edge, watch for her crescent moon smile to illuminate her face, for her eyes to stir with dreams, until she is returned to me from far away, from too far away, on the other side of the galaxy, where light, like love, still travels thoughtspeed.
