Can you feel the sun strokes on your body?
The warmth of waking love.
The clouded sky is crying: Midas rain,
Wash the pain with salve.
Dawning dusk,
Dappled light to mark the coming night.
Horizon’s blood: Pinking echoes to crust the black,
Picking at scabs to reveal peeking stars.
The cold air punctuates the moon’s glare,
Muted lantern to light the way,
Away from here or anywhere;
Caught on path of starry escape.
The wind speaks and so I heed.
The turning world will soon stand still.
It is all we can do to sleep,
Caught in the darkness of this waking dream.
