To lifeless embers blazing candles dim
Whilst bitter nightfall brings a brutal breeze.
And ruthless Winter howls an evil hymn
As She assails the aged and withered trees.

A muted stillness skulks among the streets
As frightened hearts await Her wicked wrath.
‘Tis true the frigid strength She wields defeats
All foolish souls who dare to halt Her path.

Soon silver blankets muffle fields of green
And fatal frost doth silence nature’s cry.
The tears of stars cascade upon the scene;
They weep and watch the warmth retreat and die.

With morning dawns desired rebirth and peace;
Till darkness strikes, for Winter’s breath shan’t cease.
