Adventure beckons itching, calls her paws,
Her banner eager, searching for the wind.
Enough: she shuts her window, sighs, withdraws.

From distant mountain heights, the ravens' caws
Incite her blood to scent for those who've sinned.
Adventure beckons itching, calls her paws.

To answer, though, would break the current laws.
Her oath has left her undermined and pinned.
Enough: she shuts her window, sighs, withdraws.

A badger's life is measured by her claws,
By goons dispatched, the feathered, furred, and finned.
Adventure beckons itching, calls her paws.

She smears the liniment; she wraps the gauze;
She folds her ears, recalls the fools had grinned.
Enough: she shuts her window, sighs, withdraws.

Her commendations gleam; she eats with straws,
Her patience and her coat extremely thinned.
Adventure beckons itching, calls her paws.
Enough: she shuts her window, sighs, withdraws.
