I miss you.
Or maybe just the words you’d say
Like “babe you’re mine” or “I’m only a text away”
You’d say them in confidence, with such ease
You had me believing everything, for everyone who sees
I swear you don’t even know the power you hold
You just had to look at me, and to you my heart was sold
But you got bored and lost interest in your game
And there I was, feeling all the hurt and all the blame
Oh, the words, I shouldn’t have listened to them at all
I should’ve known not to let myself fall
It was stupid of me…I don’t even know why I bothered to try,
But even to this day…
“I love you” was always my favorite lie.
