There was a time
when everything around me felt heavy.
The garden I used to love
looked dull and lifeless.
Even the butterflies-
they don't move anymore.
It was like they forgot how to fly.
We waited-
for sunlight that never rose.
But no light could pass through,
because my world was wrapped in darkness-
A heavy, breathless shadow.
I don't know how to lift.
At night, I just...
Folded into myself.
Like I didn't want to exist too much.
Even the sky felt far away,
Like it couldn't hear me.
Just then suddenly,
A small hole opened before me.
And through it,
You appeared-
Quiet and warm.
Like sunlight slipping through the crack
Could light up my whole world.
You didn't speak,
But something in your presence mended the wings
Of all the butterflies.
You gave me a reason to breathe again,
A gentle hope
To begin again.
Thank you,
For being my sunlight.
For standing there,
when my world is drowning with darkness.
