This war was never mine to fight

This War Was Never Mine to Fight

I didn't vote for leaders' might,
Nor did I see them in plain sight.
Yet here I am, in a foreign land,
Forced to fight, with gun in hand.

I'm told to defend my country’s pride
My country’s pride or what the leader decides ?
The opposition's not my enemy,
Just people like me, pushed to misery.

We're told to defend, to fight and die for honor
But honor's not a child, that I can love.
Honor's not a spouse that I can hold,
It's just a word, that's growing old.

Families are told, of honor's might,
But they'd rather have their relative in sight.
Decades of life, reduced to a word,
Is that enough, for the pain that's incurred?

Leaders should fight, if they want to win,
In a ring, with a timer, let the battle begin.
Millions of lives, would be saved that way,
No more fathers, mothers, lost each day.

No more sons, daughters, gone too soon,
No more families, torn apart in June.
No more husbands, wives, without a kiss,
No more futures, lost in endless bliss.

Leaders wake up, put yourselves in our shoes,
Feel the pain, the fear, the endless blues.
It's not just one life, it's a generation's fate,
Wake up, leaders, before it's too late.

Let's break the cycle, of war and pain,
Let's find a way, to live in peace again.
No more wars, no more fight,
Just peace, love, and a brighter light.

In the silence, I hear their voices clear,
Whispers of the clause “The end is near”
A cry for peace, a call to cease,
A reminder of humanity, in this endless tease.

So let's lay down our arms, and take a stand,
For peace, for love, for this fragile land.
I don’t want to go back home to my mother in a box
So dear leader kindly please stop
