The Life of Man

“Life is but a breath, quickly here and gone.
The swiftness of a man’s life is unknown.
Like empty space, man’s life moves along.
Restlessness and carelessness, these are shown.
The body of man slowly wastes away,
Missing the calling in which they were sent.
They do what they do and say what they say.
Precious moments they waste; countless time spent.
Each second of the day, they should treasure;
They don’t see that they are not here to stay.
With love in life they should take pleasure,
Careful to embrace every single day.
They should live each moment as their very last,
Seeing that they will soon become the past.”
