194th Weekly Poetry Contest honorable mention: MAMA AFRIQUE'S RITUAL

by Iwuagwu_Ikechukwu

It’s time again,
When the harmattan,
dances to the luring tune of weather's beat

When *amadioha’s roars,
ushers in the disappearance of weeping skies

When our laundries,
learn the fast track of dryness

When the blazing sun,
smokes out hostile fats with perspiring urgency

When the farmer’s hoe traces its previous pathway, to explore healthy tubers in the womb of mother earth

This season brings its goodies, to Mama Africa in bulk

I can hear the pine whistling.

*The god of thunder and justice in the Ibo -African mythology
