STANZAIC

Poetry shouldn’t always be about beauty
Emotional sunrises, or even a blue sky
Yet what’s thought ugly, needn’t be so
And other phrases can still be apropos
Words like interesting or different apply
Creativity is not about doing one’s duty

Statements of love can be sickly sweet
And nature never will cease to amaze
Personification is a common technique
Yet few poetry forms are that unique
One may choose a well balanced phrase
And with many verses, become replete

Those subjects that hover on the edge
May offer a rather different perspective
And taking an odd view may just work
Provided that no errors in spelling lurk
Reviewing one’s own life will be reflective
But there’s often interest over the hedge

Myths and legends are regular themes
And the star spangled universe too
But most often it’s about recollection
And always aspiring toward perfection
All creative writing is worth a review
Despite new ideas shared as memes
