of nothing grown

from blood-boldened buds
from somber spells cast
in clear streams beneath
the grave looks of heaven

grieve no more, for,
when day's bloom is spent,
another heart will bleed
for a birthplace lost forever

walk along -
having burnt old bridges,
now squeeze the arteries:
a new vintage

A star is coming

She is not weak She is strong She is not a n**** She is human with a beautiful soul and heart Her skin is not burnt It's called melanin She is not dumb She is smart and inspirational Her voice is not rough Its smooth And she is coming to prove that soon!

Pain

We are going to feel pain sometimes We are going to be broken sometimes We may want to give up one day But it will get better some day

Just To See You Smile

I will get down on all fours for that smile of yours,
It should be illegal as those whites are a weapon,
You flash that glee and I'm knocked to my knees.
This is my original sin as I know I will never win.
I'd be a fool just for you,
I'll do anything to make you smile,
Because those pearly whites keep me going for miles.
You brighten my day in no other way.
I'm like a fish that fell hook, line, and sinker,
But in my mind, it was a "no-thinker".
As time is a thief and our looks will diminish,
I know I'll be your side all the way to the finish.

Cyclic Realm

We are organisms
………….creatures
stems of planetary matter
figures of galactic creation compressed
to the revolving solar platter

We produce the chemicals of function
For effort, dreams, and deeds
And the emotional junction
For spritely, resonant needs

We strive for precious achievement
When we’re feeling alive inside
But then there’s some bereavement
From the dark and deadly ride

Reaching……what are we reaching ?
Beyond our inner souls ?
Beyond this breathing realm ?
Beyond our precious goals ?

Are we solving big demands ?

The burn

The burn

A meniscus sucks the 100ml mark
in a beaker of just-boiled water.
The sleeves of my sloppy joe are
stretched, flop like old breasts.
There are two distinct moments:
shock and pain. The body’s strange fashion,
a delay, then the brain’s alarm.
What you want is the pain,
the nice ambulance men applying
a tea-tree poultice, praising you
for running the cold tap and sousing
that angry welt. Bundling you up
and off to hospital; dosing you
with tranquilisers. What you don’t want
is a wire stuck along the way,

Murder of a Passerby

Bang, Bang goes the sound of my gun,
Bang, Bang with a desolate cost.
Bang, Bang of their feet as they run,
And thump of their bodies, now lost.

A scream for the bodies that fell,
A scream with a hint of despair,
A scream to echoe high hell,
And a shriek for their hollowed out stares.

Ah, shriek passerby,
Crawl into corners and cower in fright,
It's I, the terror of terrors of all,
Its I, who makes their bodies fall.

The click of a trigger at night,
On a warm, lifeless night.

The Rush

A pointy edged sword dips just beneath the skin
Well known
Anticipating the triumph of whats to come
We draw in a breathe in childlike excitement
In an instant it hits
The taste
Almost metallic
I welcome it so
A warmth set on enveloping my entire being
It snakes its way to the top of my ever growing brow
Ding! Ding! Ding! Rings the dinner bell
An overwhelming euphoria takes me down
Intense
Yet comforting in all its excess
A solitary bliss in its own right
I take the knee
Conceding my crown to its devilish smirk
Skinned alive

Courir de Mardi Gras

I’m gonna wear a capuchon
in the mud of Cajuns
and mock long gone nobles
with fringe of scarlet
and pistachio.

I’ll chase chickens
on horseback, go blind off
Sazeracs and feast on grand gumbo
and King cake, while throwing moon pies
from trees I climb and fighting over
which wife is mine because
I won’t recognize
her shoes.

I’m gonna dance
to the zydeco band’s accordion
in a wire mesh mask, anonymously
tap my thimble on the frottoir’s metal ribs,
