Neverland

A place of dreams
To fly high above
The running streams
From broken love

A world at peace
Without worry nor want
Forever a showpiece
Always a mere taunt

I'll always turn
Far away from this Neverland
I'll never return
To that sparkling wasteland

Forever a boy?
Forever at play?
Where's the joy?
A dreadful sioree...

I'll take my own
My mortality and bone
The greatest joy ever known
Is to reap what's been sewn

What use is eternal youth

Halo Pain

Befallen angel broken
Rebuked notions unspoken
Love a fragile deed
Thy mortal heart’ll bleed

Faith holds no gravity
In a hollowed cavity
Laden by wanton desire
Betrayal an ardent conspire

A halo aglow still
Thou retain free will
Pain will ultimately fade
Renewed by ardor crusade

Back to the Middle

Back to the Middle

I am standing right here, right now.

I lean forward onto the balls of my feet
Becoming aware of what is in front of me,
Of all I can see.

I lean backward onto my heels
Becoming aware of what is behind me,
Of all I do not see.

And back to the middle

What a miracle, to live inside this physical body!
This body that is itself a metaphor for what it is to be human.

Anterior, posterior
Superior, inferior
Medial, lateral
Bilaterally symmetrical through the sagittal plane.

Touch Up Humanity

The world is not white nor black
but shades of gray.

So is nature.
So are our lives.
To see the perfect whole – impossible.
Each value system so unique,
Like you.

Be true to your beliefs.
Your peers.
Your community.
And live within yourself to the fullest.
It’s the small imperfections
that make you human.

Laugh.
Cry.
Always grow.
Touch up humanity.

Look at greatness.
Emulate the best.
Exceed.
Strive.
Believe.

But always return to yourself.
You are temporary.
You are not eternal.

The Redefinition of a Word (to a girl who thought she was smart)

Under these circumstances
the word never becomes quite a thing
I think never is over used
He never does this or she never thought that
It loses it’s sharp edges in the high drama of absolutes
But cast with this new light never becomes a blunt instrument
As it dispassionately reshapes how my mind defines it
Introducing me to the finality of its truth

I will never feel another one of your bear hugs
I will never get hit by a pillow you tossed at me with a laugh
I will never feel you rest your elbow atop my head- a clear taunt about my height

Please

my darling, I hope you’re okay
please, dear, never let your mind stray
it is going to be alright
remember, don’t give up your fight
it’s raining everywhere, I know
but, whatever you do, don’t let go
don’t follow suit, it doesn’t suit
your hope, your happiness, your route
even if your happiness seems faint
please never allow pain to taint
the beautiful person you’ll always be
the one you, yourself, can’t seem to see
it pains me to watch you write
such hopeless rhymes so outright
I can’t say this enough, my dear
your pain’s end will soon come near

This Wind

For two whole weeks
The world was quiet and empty
I thought I’d lost something –
My tongue, my hands, my vision
You said I travelled from another world
Maybe that’s the reason
I lost all of my senses
In the meanwhile, I dissected birds
Picked the seeds from their bellies,
And hung their skulls from roof beams
Keys also dangled from these beams –
One bent, one broken
A tall one missing teeth
A desiccated dragonfly, a wasp
And a mask with strings of plastic pearls
Strung with molars at the ends
These things all kept me company

A mothers love

So sweet and pure,an overwhelming joy , To her precious gift from God,girl or boy, Overflowing river that never ends, A perfect sensation that always sends, A feeling that's speechless words can't explain, Only a mother this treasure can gain

The Crow Is Dismantled in Flight

Dim Lantern

The Manager attends only the finest regattas.
It was there he saw her in sweet suspension,
arch nubile, insidious as breath upon his ear.

A small woman wearing a sheathe of dark
feathers and carrying a lantern by her side.

He waited at night to follow her down to the Bay.
The faint light bobbing on the wooden stairs,
across their legs and the shades between.

The gondolas scraping on stone docks.
Unseen birds screeching overhead
against the Dome's impenetrable shield.
