Basking Robins And Droning Wasps

Late afternoon October 15th, 2022
a spring like day
witnessed nature in surround sound,
whereby reflection spurred
reminiscence about similar weather
a few years ago when...

Serious intent to read
latest issue of TIME magazine
found attention pleasantly distracted,
when I became keenly aware
of flora and fauna bursting,

blooming, buzzing, and twittering
oblivious to yours truly sitting stock still
in folding lawn chair
marveling at each budding
natural born architect and engineer

each respective constituent

Interlocking rueful sky and rapt earth (Imagist Poem)

Azure blue sky weeps in rent glacial torrents,
iridescent earth orb sun trap hearth of sympathy,
dark red cloud airborne pristine tide’s indignant murmur,
toxic deluge drenches mudbank plot toilers whine,
thunderstruck I gape at shattered rock erosion

Edge of seat terra firma species red  alert bluster,
grim altitude apocalypse an amber moon  blight,
rampant drought pockmark visual scar this screen plague,
trauma-ridden vapour trail from heavens lachrymose duct,
alarm bells doleful peal across a barren ground once green

Earthworm

Though not a beauty, it’s also a truth. It doesn’t lose its serenity in the material dream. Stretching and contracting… It moves in the borderless world as the purest pleasure pulsating in the soul. The earth’s vibrancy reflects in its move. To live in soil is a natural bliss. I don’t think it discerns it’s in the source of life and death. Its service always remains unrecognized, yet it never grieves. When it writhes on a hook, its pain pains no one. First published in The Literary Hatchet.

Memory

I'm wandering in time.
I can neither move forward nor want to retreat,
delving into an imaginary cloud,
Building up fantasy from edges of memory collected in childhood,
Raising the sails of yearning,
Cutting out fragments of life.
I would like to rest here
among flowers and dew
Here, I will find
Emotions lost from childhood
Let the sun and moonlight interweave,
fusion of past and future,
Shattering the night sky like lightning,
turning it into light waves,
gathering the lustre of hope,
Let us forge a splendid tomorrow.

Open Arms Welcome Poetry Muse

Ideally yours truly prefers
a she/her who never got prosecuted for a felon,
yet who most deaf fin knit lee
possesses sound blinding killer instincts
think miracle worker Anne Sullivan
signifying rendering phenomenal success
with one female named re: amazing Helen
exhibiting discerning admirable qualities
constituting intelligent witty male
despite his/him sports haunch size of a melon.

I gently beckon inspiration
for dalliance with mother tongue

singular lettered manifestation

They Seem From Distant Planets ( Science Fiction Free Verse)

Did I see an alien on my wall?
suburban garden splint mosaic boundary,
us city dwellers thrive on vivid image,
of the brain cell or that stone construct,
day in day out a densely swollen wave,
science fiction plot a stellar studded cast,
viral stranger tread mill yet has avid yen,
one can read agendas over bridges barely crossed,
lever arch connection frames a stick on smirk,
flight bound creatures  wonder round in circles,
though born on earth  they seem from distant planets,
the stuff of silver starship desperate landing,

Morning need

Wheat flour with sugar mixed
emulsified with shortening thick
elixir of vanilla added in
and a few chocolate chips

indigo darkness lies without
distant trucks rumble on
forms and papers to be filled
are what fills my computer screen

stomach empty does call out
aching with an awful need
and my thoughts do resist
thinking of percentage fat

sugar of blood ‘tis not low
sluggish not my thoughts do flow
yet my tooth all too sweet
would like to nibble on a treat

In the pantry packages lie
foil packets that keep fresh
