You see me when I’m at a peak
You see me when the cliff is too steep
When I’m all the way up and when I fall straight down
The things you can’t help but see if you happen to be around

You meet me melted
And you feel me frozen
Piping with whatever heat I’ve chosen
At the burst of noon
At the woe of midnight.

But I want sunsets
And I want dawn
I want to be seen when the painting isn’t drawn
When the disaster hasn’t spilled paint from the cups
And I’m still feeling maybe

You see the top and the bottom of
The things sculpted with tears and giggles
But just once see the space in between,
Where the edges aren’t so clean.
