Member Poem

Twilight... an arrow was shot
Aimed perfectly at the weak spot 
Unprepared she was, she took the hit
Her knees buckled, from the heavy knock.
Scared I was but just for a bit
I took courage and stood to face it
With a tremble pulled out the arrow and stick.
Panicked as I looked around
I cried out ‘did anyone see this shot’
I heard nothing except my own words as it echoed through the fog!

My feet could move no more
Strength seemed to drain from all this toll
As I sagged to give in and about to let her fall
Over the horizon a glimmer of light I saw.
The light that was one got multiplied
I saw not one but an army of  light
Arise, awaken was their battle cry
I woke up from my sleep
And I was scared no more…

Every time a lie is born
Every justice denied and gone
Every cry of the innocent lost
Toxic darts are aimed at humanity
Waiting for that perfect shot.
Arise, awaken is the call  
Pursue what's just for this call is for all
From the shadows, their voices are  calling out
To help heal the hurt that was not their fault
When we take a stand our world gets a chance
Kindness, love and trust, should be our stance.
