Is What She Sees of Them

Now what can she peer forward to again
Unless it have some element abreast
With him and her and their dark, haunted quest
Which mingled each with each in mystic rain,
So fragile yet imperious whose grain
It forced them blind and blinder till the test,
Dividing them apart, brought forth the guest
Whose consecrated breathing shared their pain?

Is what she sees of their posterity
A replica for which she left ajar
Her body, hopeful of the prodigy:
The two they were emerge the one they are?
What else need she look forward to than this,
Who greets in them some trait of hers or his?
