like a deserted
child, a spray of blossoms
in an old tree

like a woman
collapsing, the white lotus
has fallen full length

on the water
staring at its own image —
a stray goose

on the water
a clear image of blossoms

death close by

on the skin of a woman
who has never conceived
hot autumn sun

beyond the dark
where I disrobe
an iris in bloom

though it flies and flies
the wild goose cannot escape
from the moon's rays

with nothing
to touch, a dead branch
grabs at the sky

the old warbler
when tears fill its eyes
lets out a cry

up on a hydro pole
the electrician turns

on a snowy day
my bathed body, a finger
a toe — I love all of it
